Design Concept

In this project, we will try to design a poster. A poster that will show you, about creative industry from the creative aspect.

We want to show the creative industry that will bright the night, the metaphor as creative industry is the major economy to the world one day.

Stage 2. Essay

What is Creative Multimedia? Creative Multimedia is actually separated by two words which is creative and multimedia. Creative is actually an ability to create something new. Something more interesting and new to us, it also can be defined as a new idea. While multimedia is a combination of many media. That is why we called it “multi-media”. It includes text, audio, still images, animation, video and interactivity content forms. That is the basic understanding of creative multimedia. As I can see, creative multimedia has a wide range of meaning. It can be in terms of industries, educations and more. As for now, let us take a look at industries, creative industries. Creative Industries is the industries that interact with creativity. It refers to a range of economic activities which are concerned with the generation or exploitation of knowledge and information. Today, the term is more widely used and understood, in a knowledge economy the importance of these industries to national wealth is more commonly recognized, and the special needs of these industries are reflected more in policy development at national, regional and sub-regional levels. The creative industries have moved from fringes to the mainstream.

Today, people are depending on oil consumption. Oil plays an important role in today’s economy. As we all know, these oil are actually came from petroleum and these petroleum has been excavated from all over the world. The government produces oil in large quantities because of the extensive use from the society. Nowadays, oil are widely use as fuel for vehicles or as the breeding material. The government itself has discovered new things that can be produced by oil including plastic, pharmaceuticals, solvents, fertilizers and pesticides. Due to these new discoveries, the government has developed more industries that interact with oil such as oil industries that produces cooking oil, plastic goods, pesticides and fertilizers. And the government itself has to develop more oil producers such as PETRONAS; a company from Malaysia, SHELL from US and BHP from British. This proves that the world really depends on oil to generate their economy.

But do remember that oil is non-renewable sources and it is not possible that these sources of energy will extinct. And when the times come, what is going to happen? What will replace it? PETRONAS and other producers are required no more. And what kind of industry will replace all the current industries? This is the time for Creative Industries to replace them. What can they do in order to fix the problem? Globally, Creative Industries will provide the job opportunities and indirectly this will decrease the number of unemployment and the economy will back on its track again. When this is happen, the country will depend on it in order to generate their economy. Within the creative industries sector and again taking the UK as an example, the three largest sub-sectors are design, publishing, television and radio. Together these account for around 75% of revenues and 50% of employment. There may be a tendency for publicly-funded creative industries development services to inaccurately estimate the number of creative businesses during the mapping process. There are many examples of developed countries that have creative industries as one of the important economy such as UK, USA and Hong Kong. These countries use creative industry to generate their economy in certain ways. Hollywood is good in producing new movies with creative and great visual effects. It is time for Hollywood to help USA to generate their economy by selling their entertainment such as films, games, software and more. These kinds of products are really gets a lot of response from all over the world so it really helps the economy.

There are more products such as crafts, visual art. These are kind of products that are potential for wealth and job creation through the generation and exploitation of intellectual property. Creative Industries can be in many ways and even music is one of them. Music or performing art is the best way of generate economy because of it is easy to get ones attention. Nowadays, people are easily get attracted by music. They would pay hundreds to watch their favourite performance. This will helps the country to generate their economy in entertainment. Apart from that, there are some activities that we called “creative writing”. Creative Writing can be considered as novel, poem, short stories and even writing for stage like stage and playwriting. Let us take novel for example. Novel is another best selling products.

So, based on all point given above, I think creative industries are really important not only for economy but for us. Creative Industries helps to generate the economy and really help us in achieving a better life. The world needs this industry. It actually develops the world in many ways. That’s all I can say for now.

Metaphor.

First, what is Metaphor?
-a figure of speech in which an expression is used to refer to something that it does not literally denote in order to suggest a similarity

-A metaphor is an analogy between two objects or ideas; the analogy is conveyed by the use of a metaphorical word in place of some other word. For example: "Her eyes were glistening jewels".-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metaphor

Whats the different between Metaphor , Analogy and Simile?
A metaphor is a figure of speech that uses one thing to mean another and makes a comparison between the two. The key words here are “one thing to mean another.” So, when someone says “He’s become a shell of a man,” we know not to take this literally, even though it’s stated directly as if this person had actually lost his internal substance.

A simile compares two different things in order to create a new meaning. In this case, we are made explicitly aware that a comparison is being made due to the use of “like” or “as” (He’s like a shell of a man). For fun, the next time someone corrects you and says “That’s a simile, not a metaphor,” you can respond by letting them know that a simile is a type of metaphor, just like sarcasm is a type of irony. Resist the urge to be sarcastic in your delivery.

An analogy is comparable to metaphor and simile in that it shows how two different things are similar, but it’s a bit more complex. Rather than a figure of speech, an analogy is more of a logical argument. The presenter of an analogy will often demonstrate how two things are alike by pointing out shared characteristics, with the goal of showing that if two things are similar in some ways, they are similar in other ways as well.

Juxtaposition in real life

In my course ecspecially, that is Media Innovation, Juxtaposition is really important. As we will becoming a advertising designer, we must know how to delivery something differently, that can touch the people, or attract the people to the product.

So, that is great to discuss, how we can use the juxtaposition into the art.
By the way, this is the great example, of how a artist use juxtaposition in his art.

To me, juxtaposition make the artworks become more "life". I dont know how to describe. Lets say the film without comparison, without metaphore, seriously it will become the sucks movie to watch. Same with artworks, it need something to make people to feel it alive. Isnt it?

This is the a example of ad that using the concept:

This one, is a example of juxtaposition concept on architecture.

A photo essay by Camilo Jose Vergaga in Camden, New Jersey, explores the stark juxtaposition of living architecture and deserted buildings.
